Chocolate Strawberry Covered Morning Bliss

A Cozy, Nourishing Bowl That Tastes Like Dessert for Breakfast

You know those mornings when you want something warm, chocolatey, and filling—but also fresh and energizing? That’s exactly what these Chocolate Strawberry Oats deliver. It’s a one-bowl, microwave-friendly breakfast that combines all the richness of chocolate with the brightness of banana and berries. Super satisfying and secretly full of goodness. This bowl has quickly become one of my go-to comfort meals, especially when I’m craving something sweet but still want to keep it balanced.

Chocolate Strawberry Oats

It takes under 10 minutes to make, it’s completely plant-based, and yes, it tastes like a cozy hug in a bowl. Whether you’re meal-prepping breakfast or whipping something up last minute, this one hits the spot.

Oat Base:

  • 30g rolled oats
  • 15g chocolate soy protein powder
  • 3g chia seeds
  • 5g cocoa powder
  • ½ ripe banana, mashed
  • A pinch of cinnamon
  • 90ml water
  • 90ml unsweetened almond milk

Toppings:

  • ½ banana, sliced
  • Frozen strawberries (lightly thawed)
  • A spoonful of soy yogurt
  • Shredded coconut
  • Hemp seeds
  • Extra cinnamon
  • A drizzle of chocolate hazelnut butter (yes please 😍)

Instructions

1. Prep the Oats

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine rolled oats, protein powder, chia seeds, cocoa powder, cinnamon, almond milk, and water. Stir until well combined.

2. Microwave, Then Add a Banana

Microwave the oat mix for 2 minutes at 600W. Carefully remove and stir in the mashed banana. Microwave for another 1–2 minutes until the oats are soft and creamy.

3. Add the Toppings

Top your warm chocolate oats with sliced banana, frozen strawberries, soy yogurt, shredded coconut, a sprinkle of hemp seeds and cinnamon, and a generous drizzle of chocolate hazelnut butter. Trust me, don’t skip that last one.

Why I Love This Bowl

This combo is dessert disguised as breakfast. The chocolate protein powder makes it rich and indulgent, the banana adds sweetness, and the chia thickens everything into that perfect porridge texture.

Plus, the toppings take it to another level. I usually prep a version of this the night before and microwave it in the morning—it’s a game changer.

Tips & Swaps

  • No microwave? Just simmer everything on the stovetop for 5–7 minutes.
  • No protein powder? Sub with extra cocoa powder and a teaspoon of maple syrup.
  • No banana? You can try applesauce or pumpkin purée, but banana adds the best creaminess.
  • Dairy-free? This is 100% vegan but works great with any plant-based swaps (like coconut yogurt or oat milk).

Final Thoughts

Breakfast doesn’t have to be boring, and this bowl proves it. The mix of chocolate, fruit, and creamy oats is basically what I imagine self-care in food form looks like. It’s filling, nutrient-rich, and totally customizable based on what you have on hand. Plus, if you’re like me and love that blend of warm oats and cold yogurt, this is your new favorite.
